Writer. Editor. Journalist.

About Me

I was born and raised in Berlin, Connecticut and started my journey at Penn State in the fall of 2014. I recently graduated cum laude in May 2017 with two Bachelor's of Arts degrees in English (concentrations in professional and media writings and creative writing) and journalism (with an emphasis in digital and print platforms). Currently, I am the assistant editor at FOLIO: Magazine, a B2B publication for the media industry. I aspire to pursue a career in book publishing, digital journalism or editorial writing while also working on my own writing on the side. I have a passion for editing, revising and seeing a project through to the end. In this e-portfolio, you will find samples of my work that represent the skills and abilities that I believe are essential for a career in these industries.

Aside from the obvious hobbies of reading and writing that come along with the territory, my other interests lie in photography, music, and travel. The summer after my freshman year, I traveled to Ireland for a study abroad trip. I studied Irish literature and poetry with writers from the country as well as studied art under a native Irish professor from Penn State. Unlike other study abroad programs that typically learn within the walls of a classroom, our program was an out-of-classroom curriculum that traveled around the Republic of Ireland. We learned about the history of the Irish people and their land while working with professional poets in their workshops. We also visited world-renowned artists in their studios and had private performances with popular musicians of the country. Coming back from this trip, my writing has been heavily influenced and has given me a lot of inspiration. Visit the tab labeled "Ireland" for some of my work that I did coming out of this trip.

I organized this e-portfolio by my résumé, individual samples of my work, collaborative samples of projects, my work from when I was in Ireland and my contact information. This was aimed to optimize your viewing experience as well as highlight the best samples of my writing.

I hope you enjoy reading my work and please contact me with any questions or inquiries!
